Face-to-face meetings with company management are much more difficult during the pandemic, but they can be an important part of due diligence that uncovers potential problems or overlooked sources of return. While many investment managers conduct such visits, the Evli Emerging Frontier Fund has committed to meet every single company before investing.

Burton Flynn, the fund’s portfolio manager, met over 600 companies in the past year while spending ten months living in ten emerging markets. Now that global travel has effectively stopped, Burton is examining the relationship between in-person meetings with CEOs and investment returns. In this interactive webinar, he will share insights from the data collected during his travels.
