CFA Society warmly welcomes its members to celebrate the annual Forecast Dinner again in-person, this year in the spirit of our 20 Year Anniversary Season.
We will enjoy dinner and drinks, and hear inspiring and interesting presentations from guest speakers Mika Anttonen and Elina Valtonen. Hopefully many of our members are able to join us and network in-person again.
Elina will speak about economic policy, central bank policy and the current status of life account. Mika will present on the myth of green growth; is global energy transition possible.
After the presentations we will go over last year forecasts, award the Forecaster and Volunteer of the year, and forecast for the year 2022.

Elina Valtonen is a Member of The Finnish Parliament and vice -chair of the center-right National Coalition Party. Prior to entering politics, she worked 10 years in the financial sector in London (Royal Bank of Scotland) and the Nordics (Nordea). Her latest title was Director in Global Banking and Markets at RBS. Lepomäki is M.Sc. in Technology (Computer Science) and M.Sc. in Financial economics; with doctoral studies in applied mathematics. Early in her career, she programmed an artificial intelligence solution for the financial sector: a neural network for forecasting the term structure of interest rates (2005). In 2018, she published her book ”Vapauden Voitto” (Otava), on reforming the Nordic welfare model.
Mika Anttonen is the Chairman of the Board of energy c ompany St1 Nordic Oy. Mika has a deep knowledge of the overall picture of the energy industry and a genuine desire to find solutions to global energy challenges. Mika began his career as a private entrepreneur in the fuel trade and rapidly built up a diverse energy company which today pursues its vision to become a leading producer and seller of CO2-aware energy. St1 is investing heavily in renewable energy research and production, ranging from industrial wind power to waste-based advanced bio fuels.
