Nordic Investment Conference 27.3.2025
The fifth edition of the Nordic Investment Conference is hosted by CFA Society Finland in co-operation with CFA Society Denmark/The Danish Finance Society, CFA Society Norway, and CFA Society Sweden.
The Nordic Investment Conference was established to leverage on the uniqueness and success of the Nordic models of investing and asset management. This year the event will be held in Helsinki, Finland on Thursday 27th March 2025 and we are pleased to have a selection of prominent speakers from Finland, Sweden and other parts of the world
The day will cover a range of topics important to the Nordic investor:
Defence and security
Energy and utilities markets
Analysis of the current geopolitical situation and its implications to asset allocation
Nordic real estate and forest investments
AI in finance and investment management
It will be a full-day agenda ending with a cocktail reception and will be held in the Helsinki Stock Exchange building (Pörssitalo).

SPEAKERS
Alokik Advani, Fidelity International
Alokik leads the Fidelity International Strategic Ventures team. This team builds and invests in innovative strategic financial services companies and technologies, including Moneybox, DriveWealth, Conquest, SteelEye, Smart Pension, Moonfare and Finbourne. He joined Fidelity after ten years at Goldman Sachs, most recently as Head of Principal Strategic Investments, APAC, based in Hong Kong.
Jamil Baz, PhD, PIMCO
Jamil Baz is a managing director and head of client solutions and analytics. Previously at PIMCO, he was a portfolio manager on the global team. Prior to rejoining PIMCO in 2016, he was a senior managing director and chief investment strategist of the Man Group. Previously, he was a managing director in macro proprietary trading at Goldman Sachs in London and global chief investment strategist at Deutsche Bank.
Christian Fredrixon, Cibus
Mr Fredrixon, CEO, joined Cibus in January 2024 and has more than 20 years' experience from real estate and financial markets in general and the daily-goods real estate segment in particular. Most recently, he served as the CIO for Vasakronan AB and as Board Member representing AMF Pension in a real estate grocery JV with ICA.
Cecilie Hellestveit, PhD, NAIL
Cecilie Hellestveit is a fellow at the Norwegian Academy of International Law. She teaches and researches in the laws of armed conflict and has authored numerous books on contemporary armed conflicts. She is a member of the Ethical Council of the sovereign Norwegian wealth fund, and a member of a governmental commission on extremism.
Mikko Hyppönen, WithSecure
Mikko Hypponen is a cyber security researcher and best-selling author. His TED Talk has been viewed over 2 million times and translated into 40 languages. He has advised the Monetary Authority of Singapore and EUROPOL and has written for leading publications like The New York Times, Wired, and Scientific American. Mikko has also lectured at top universities, including Harvard, Oxford, and MIT. His latest book has been published in five languages.
Per Karlsson, S&P Global
Per Karlsson is a Director in S&P Global's Infrastructure group in Stockholm. Since early 2020 he has been a Lead analyst in the Utilities team, covering the Nordics as well as German and Austrian markets. Per joined the company in 2001 and has been involved in several industries since then. He worked as an analyst of Oil and gas companies until 2013, covering companies such as Statoil, Preem and Repsol.
Juha Hyvärinen, PhD, LUT University
Dr. Juhani Hyvärinen works as Professor of Modelling in Nuclear Engineering and Head of Energy Technology Department at LUT University, Lappeenranta. Born in 1963, he has a M.Sc. in Power Plant Engineering and D.Sc.(Tech.) In Nuclear Engineering, both from Lappeenranta University of Technology. He has been with LUT since 2013.
Jarno Limnell, PhD, MP
Jarno Limnell is a member of Parliament and also a adjunct professor in three universities. He is also a member of expert network in World Economic Forum. He has been working in security policy and cybersecurity more than 25 years.
Niklas Ringborg, CRK Forest Management
Niklas Ringborg is a CEO and Partner at CRK Forest Management Ab- Asset manager to Silvestica 1 and 2 funds. The company has 120 000 ha of productive forest land in SW, FI, LV, LT. Mr. Ringborg has 10 years of experience in banking at Landshypotek Ban. He is a private forest owner in Sweden. Niklas has an MSc in Forestry with a major in forest industrial economy
Jeevan Sagoo, Ares Credit Group
Mr. Sagoo is a Managing Director in the Ares Credit Group, where he focuses on U.S. direct lending within Sport, Media and Entertainment (‘SME’). Prior to joining Ares in 2024, Mr. Sagoo was a Co-Founder and Partner at AcePoint Capital, an investment firm specializing in private credit within the SME sectors, where he was responsible for origination, structuring and execution of first lien and mezzanine financings as well as strategy and operations for the company.
Jakob Sandell, Tesi
Jakob works as a Research Manager at Tesi, the Finnish government’s private equity and fund investor. In his daily work, he dives deep into emerging verticals to support Tesi’s investment teams and the Finnish economy. Recent studies include among others a study on 368 Finnish Defence firms, their growth prospects and funding dynamics.
Christoph V. Schon, CFA, CIPM, SimCorp
Christoph Schon leads SimCorp’s Investment Decision Research in Europe. With 25 years of experience in financial markets, Christoph previously worked as a sell-side analyst and client-facing quant at major investment banks, including Dresdner Kleinwort, Lehman Brothers, Barclays Capital, and UBS. He has been a CFA charterholder since November 2007 and earned the CIPM designation in 2015.
Lauri Tenhunen, CFA, Conifer Consulting
Lauri Tenhunen, CFA, works as a Portfolio Manager for Conifer Consulting, offering in-house service for acquisition of forestland and nature values-based forest management in Finland. Mr. Tenhunen worked previously at Dasos Capital and AFRY Management Consulting, where he focused on forest industry assignments globally.
Sami Veijalainen, CapMan Natural Capital
Sami Veijalainen is a partner at CapMan Natural Capital managing around 240,000 ha of forest and land assets in 8 EU-countries. Mr. Veijalainen has worked over 16 years for Dasos Capital Oy and CapMan Oyj focusing on sustainable forest investments and natural capital. Previously Mr. Veijalainen worked for KPMG and AFRY Management Consulting focusing mainly on forest valuations and wood supply plans in Europe and Latin America.
