Access Scholarships is renewing its model to acommodate the new CBT schedule

The Access Scholarship -program is one of the most sought after scholarships at the CFA institute, being awarded around 5700 times per year. Now that the CFA exams have been transferred to compute testing mode, the schedule for applying the scholarship has changed from once a year to two application windows in FY22 (might be expanded to three in FY23) This will give the candidates more choice of registration to the program and choose the testing windows accordingly.

access scholarship features

  • Access scholarships provide needs-based scholarship opportunities for those unable to afford the full price of the CFA Program enrollment and registration fees

  • Program enrollment fee is waived and the exam registration fee is reduced to USD250 (includes access to the curriculum eBook)

  • Multiple application and award cycles are offered.

  • Each application window will be 5 weeks and the review and award process will take another 5 weeks.

  • Awards can be applied to any CFA Program level, will be valid for one year, and will be applicable to 4 exam cycles.

  • The specific timelines for application and review are available on the CFA Institute website

This new system will give many beneficial features for candidates. Compared to the former application cycle, the wait time for a decision is shortened. Candidates have four exams in which to use their award. Consideration of upcoming registration deadlines will be kept in mind with the award schedule.

The next application window for access scholarships opens 10 January until 14 February. The decision for the awards comes latest on 31 March. The exam cycles available for this scholarship are: Aug 22, Nov 22, Feb 23, May 23. The scholarship expires 31 March 2023. Cycle two will open 9 May 2022.
