After beginning formalities, the meeting continued by Miia presenting the Board Report from last year and treasurer Tiina Smolander giving an introduction to the Finance Report. Afterwards, attendees listened to action plan and budget for next year. There was ample feedback from the audience and the conversation was lively.

After an information-filled meeting it was time for dinner. Lively conversations flowed as the evening continued into the twilight of an August evening. Miia is now retiring from board work where she has made a considerable difference in directing the society’s course for the past two years as President, and as a board member prior to that. The audience gave its warmest thanks to Miia for all her efforts and countless hours spent for the benefit of the Finnish Society.

Other retiring members are Lassi Simola, CFA, Miikka Hautamäki, CFA and Jaana Kero, CIPM, who have all contributed greatly to increasing impact and organizing networking and academic events.

The board members introduced themselves shortly and Antti gave some insights into what is in store for CFA Society Finland next term. As the pandemic continues there will surely be some challenges but no lack of enthusiasm to work for member value and advocacy, even in these circumstances. New event possibilities as well as collaborations with Finnish and global companions are looked into and all the available technology will be used to bring as much benefit to the members as possible.
