Ethics and Trust in Finance Prize for a Sustainable Future

 

CFA Institute is supporting a global competition running now in its eighth edition. Ethics and Trust in Finance Prize for a Sustainable Future is directed at people 35 and younger to raise awareness of the benefits of ethics in finance.

The competition organized by the Observatoire de la Finance, raises greater awareness among people throughout the world about the benefits of ethics in finance, and aims to encourage high-quality management of banking, insurance and financial services based on trust and integrity.

One can enter by submitting an essay reassessing the role of financial institutions and how they can provide a meaningful response to the changing needs of the communities in which they operate. The competition also encourages candidates to re-imagine how financial institutions, together with their stakeholders, can balance the desire for growth, security and stability for the post-pandemic world. The winners will be allocated prize money worth of USD 20,000.

The launch includes roundtable discussions with professionals including Gary Baker, Managing Director for EMEA and Research, Advocacy and Ethics at CFA Institute. Josina Kamerling, Head of Regulatory Outreach for EMEA at CFA Institute is a co-chair of the Prize Jury. Mrs. Kamerling comments: “ This Prize is an inspiration to all, as young people step forward to address ethical issues in the finance industry. Over the years I have shared essay submissions with policymakers and stakeholders around the world in order that the ideas presented may have an opportunity to influence how economic systems adapt and develop for future generations.
