Local Research Challenge competition kicked off 8th November
CFA Society Finland is thrilled to be starting with a new season of the Research Challenge for 2024, as we kicked off the competition with a virtual event on 8th November. There are six teams participating this year from five Universities: Aalto University, Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences with two teams, University of Eastern Finland, University of Turku, and University of Vaasa.
Research Challenge team chair Markku Leppälä, CFA welcomed everyone to the event, and Tuomas Hillukkala, CFA, continued with presenting CFA Institute and the CFA charter and our Society to the audience. Onni Hautala, CFA and Roope Relander, CFA continued with the competition details as well as covering questions from the audience.
The local competition subject company this year is Neste Oyj, and we were happy to welcome Anssi Tammilehto, Vice President, Investor Relations, to present the company with a thorough look into the different segments, strategy and industry analysis. There was also good time to answer questions from the kick -off audience.
After the Neste session, we had a chance to dive into the LSEG Workspace data platform with Janne Virtanen, Customer Success Manager from LSEG (former Refinitiv). Students will get access to the Workspace platform for the duration of the challenge.
Thank you everyone for attending, big thanks also to the Faculty Advisors and Mentors for signing up this year, you all make this great competition possible!
