Public to private transactions that shift fossil assets into private hands are a key theme in global sustainable finance and pose several important questions around investors’ role as providers of capital.

The methodology by companies involved in such transactions to measure their carbon footprint has implications on companies' financing, especially in the context of sustainability-linked bonds (SLB).

What are the implications for the climate transition from these transactions? Is there a carbon footprint arbitrage in the utilities market? And what are the SLB’s implications for the companies’ financing?

Speakers:

  • Ulf Erlandsson, CEO, AFII

  • Stephanie Mielnik, Director of Research, AFII
