Priorities for the Slovenian Presidency of the EU

The Slovenian Presidency comes at a time when the EU plans to further implement its agenda on sustainable finance and its strategy for financing the green transition. The COP26 conference, which is taking place in October and November 2021, represents an opportunity for the EU and the Slovenian Presidency to show their intention to continue to spearhead effective policy actions on climate change, and discuss coordinated action with the rest of the world.

The Presidency is also expected to make progress on various EU legislative files, such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and the upcoming EU Audit reform, which aim to improve sustainability reporting and ensure sufficient investor protection.

Further agreement in the EU and worldwide also has to be made on the climate - energy package Fit for 55 where significant impact on the market conditions is ahead.

This free virtual event, jointly hosted by CFA Society Slovenia and CFA Institute will gather EU and Slovenian regulators, and industry representatives to dive deeply into the most urgent questions faced by the Slovenian Presidency of the European Commission.
