Asia has increasingly become the engine of the Global economy and in the light of recent poor relative performance versus Developed markets, Asian markets could present attractive opportunities for investors going forward. Unlike Europe there is no energy crisis in the region, markets have a stronger policy arsenal and inflation is generally less of an issue relative to developed markets. Our base case is for a moderate and gradual recovery of growth over the course of 2023.
However, the region is still at the beginning of its Sustainable journey and its dominance of China poses unique challenges to investors.

SPEAKERS
Catherine Yeung is an Investment Director for Fidelity International. Based in Hong Kong, she works within the investment team and with Fidelity's Equity Portfolio Managers. She is responsible for product management and communication of the firm’s Asia Pacific ex-Japan equity investment capabilities across all client channels and geographies. Ms Yeung is a regular market commentator and appears on various international broadcasters such as Bloomberg, CNBC, BBC, Sky News, BNN Canada, Channel News Asia, TV Monde, Deutsche Welle and Sweden's DiTV.
Jenn-Hui Tan is Global Head of Stewardship and Sustainable Investing for Fidelity International. Jenn is responsible for providing external and internal leadership for Fidelity's sustainable investing activities, including the strategy and policies on engagement, voting and ESG integration. Jenn joined Fidelity International in 2007 from Norton Rose Fulbright, where he was a corporate finance lawyer advising on capital market and M and A transactions. He holds an LLB Law degree from the University of Durham
