CFA Institute's Financial Regulatory Symposium was a great success
The Financial Regulatory Symposium was held 29-30th June, and was organized by CFA Institute. The event offered discussions around the major policy and regulatory developments that affect the global finance and investment industry right now. Business conduct and professionalism, which together constitute the cornerstone of the mission of CFA Institute, were key ingredients in this seminar with terrific expert speaking from all over the world.
The first day’s keynote speaker was Erkki Liikanen, Chair, IFRS Foundation Trustees, followed by a panel discussion on ESG and Sustainability Disclosure: An Investor and Regulator Dialogue. Paul Andrews, Managing Director of Research, Advocacy and Standards, CFA Institute, acted as key note speaker on the second day and the panel concentrated on Business Conduct in COVID Times - How is a crisis like COVID-19 forcing regulators to take position in favour of investor protection and market integrity?
Panel speakers included Cathie Armour, Commissioner, Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC), Laura van Geest, Chair, Executive Board, Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM), Marcelo Barbosa, Chair, Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), Allison Herren Lee, Commissioner, US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and many more.
