CFA Society Finland Annual General Meeting was held August 24th in Espoo

CFA Society Finland held Annual General Meeting yesterday 24th August at Lucy in the Sky restaurant in Espoo’s Keilaniemi. With some amazing views we had a lovely time with well over 40 members attending to hear the highlights from Society’s past year as well as plans for the next one. Thank you Miia Hukari, CFA for acting as the chair for the meeting.

During the meeting board president Toni Iivonen, CFA presented the highlights form board report FY23, elaborated on CFA Institute’s new society operating and funding model, and communicated on the Society main strategic points for the coming year. Our past year treasurer Hanna Haavanlammi, CFA, presented the financial report and budget for the coming year. Nomination committee chair Antti Raappana, CFA, described how the committee chooses the nominees for the new board. The number of the board members will rise from eight till nine members for next operational year.

We are happy to announce the newly elected board for year 23/24: Toni Iivonen, CFA will continue as the president of the board, with Tuomas Hillukkala, CFA and Markku Leppälä, CFA elected as vice presidents. Other continuing members of the board are Onni Hautala, CFA, Juhani Häyrinen, CFA, and Vahur Vallistu, CFA. New elected members to the board are Evgeny Artemenkov, CFA, Philip Garner, CFA and Roope Relander, CFA. Warm congratulations!

Big thank you to leaving board members Hanna Havanlammi, CFA and Joonas Huttunen, CFA. Volunteering and committing time to the Society from busy lives is hugely appreciated.  

During the evening we also celebrated the new charterholders in our Society who passed the level three CFA exam in February this year. Big congratulations on the terrific achievement go to Lucas Gataveckas, CFA, Juhana Holmström, CFA, Aleksi Jalava, CFA, Jarkko Mynttinen, CFA, Kai Nyroos, CFA, Dennis Pacius, CFA, Joonas Timonen, CFA, Ville Wahlgren, CFA, and Tobias Ylömäki, CFA who joined the evening with Jukka Järvinen, CFA and Jan Telford, CFA also earning the charter.
