CFA Society Finland Christmas Dinner and Charter Awards was held at Restaurant Sipuli

CFA Society Finland was very happy to gather with its members for annual Christmas Dinner and Charter Awards on 7th December, at Restaurant Sipuli in Katajankokka, Helsinki. For years, Sipuli has been a trusted place for our Society’s annual staple events, and it’s pleasant atmosphere did not let us down this time either. The evening was hosted by our board members Tuomas Hillukkala, CFA and Toni Iivonen, CFA.

Welcoming drinks were followed by an interesting presentation by Niklas Kaskeala, Chief Impact Officer, Compensate. Compensate is a non-profit foundation concentrating in offering voluntary and reliable carbon credits for companies and individuals, making it easy to offset emission that are unavoidable. Niklas gave the audience an in-depth analysis on what the voluntary carbon credit market looks like now an its potential for the future, how to ensure real impact from carbon credits (vs. greenwashing), and what the differences are when talking about carbon neutrality vs. net zero targets. Thank you Niklas for joining our event with a highly topical theme.

New charterholders at the event: Juuso Molander, CFA, Lauri Tenhunen, CFA, Matti Rimpisalo, CFA, Juho Taskinen, CFA, Juha Warma, CFA, and Topi Huhta-Halkola, CFA.

After main course was the exciting time to celebrate the new charterholders in our Society. This time we awarded graduates from the May and August exam rounds. Congratulations Topi Huhta-Halkola, CFA, Riku Kekkonen, CFA, Juuso Molander, CFA, Matti Rimpisalo, CFA, Juho Taskinen, CFA, Lauri Tenhunen, CFA, Jere Vuorela, CFA, and Juha Warma, CFA! It is great to have you join our local group of professionals!

In addition to Helsinki event, CFA Society Finland was happy to gathers local members in Estonia on December 8th, for some networking in Tallinn Old Town Restaurant Rado. The Christmas Dinner was organized by board member Vahur Vallistu, CFA. Local events for our members in Estonia and neighboring areas are very important for our Society and we strive to organize them annually.

Thank you to CFA Finland members for this eventful year. We look forward to meeting you again in 2023!
