We at CFA Society Finland were thrilled to be able to organize a Charter Awards in connection with Christmas party this late November. Since we have not had a chance to do this in two years, this was definitely a celebration long over due. The event was held in Hotel Kämp Paavo Nurmi Cabinets with a parallel event in Tallinn at Restaurant Horisont, Swissôtel.

In Helsinki, board member Dan Anttila opened the event and introduced Dr. Elias Rantapuska, an associate professor of finance and head of finance department at Aalto University School of Business. Mr. Rantapuska presented on “The Financial Expert in Your Social Network" , based on original research on the subject of how family members of investment professionals invest and what effect this relationship has on the investment decisions of partners, parents and other family members. The audience was intrigued on this very interesting subject matter and it was great to have the opportunity to ask questions and have a conversation on the topic.

After the presentation the participants enjoyed a festive dinner. Before the dessert we had the special moment where we acknowledge the hard work of new charterholders and welcome them to the Society. CFA Society Finland gained altogether nine new charterholders this year: Tomi Halinen, Tuomas Hillukkala, Antti Ihalainen, Oskar Karlsson, Tommi Karvinen, Joonas Marjomaa, Juha Soini, Ville Tiainen and Eero Vesa. Congratulations to all, happy to have you join our community!

It was wonderful to be able to meet with our members in-person as we are headed again for some more turbulent times. We strongly hope to be able to convene soon, remember to check our events section for upcoming events!
